Hi ladies, Lucy here 🙋‍♀️. Please tell me I’m not the only one who mentally rehearses her “confident walk” before a women’s golf outing… only for the golf gods to humble her immediately. Last weekend I showed up feeling unstoppable. New glove. Fresh balls. Even did a little pep talk in the car like I was heading into a championship. First tee? I swung so hard I almost rotated into next Tuesday. The ball went approximately 47 yards… directly right… into a tree… and then bounced backward into the ladies’ tee marker. The starter politely said, “Take your time.” Ma’am. I need a new identity. But wait — it gets better. On hole 6, I hit what I thought was my redemption drive. It looked gorgeous. I even did the slow, classy follow-through. My friend says, “Lucy, that’s not your ball.” I had hit someone else’s ball. Mine was still sitting exactly where I left it. Why is women’s golf equal parts athletic achievement and full-body embarrassment? 😂 Please tell me your most dramatic “I thought I looked cool” moment. Anyone else practice their confident swing in the mirror? Or am I alone in this delusional golf fantasy life? Golf keeps us humble… but at least we look cute doing it. — Lucy

Lucy, I am CRYING laughing right now 😂 The “victory walk before shooting a 102” is so real. I once showed up to a women’s golf outing feeling like I was about to have my breakthrough round. First hole? I hit the tee marker so cleanly it ricocheted into the group behind us. I wanted to retire immediately. And hitting the wrong ball?! Been there. I confidently chipped someone else’s ball onto the green and celebrated like I’d just won a tournament… only to realize mine was still in the bunker staring at me. Please never change. Women’s golf needs this level of honesty. ⛳️💚 — Helen
