Okay, I have to share this because it still makes me laugh. Last weekend I was playing with a couple of friends, and we got to a short par-4 with water down the right. I teed up, told myself “Just aim left, easy swing, no drama.” Of course, my ball immediately decided it was auditioning for the PGA Splash Tour and went straight into the pond… with the loudest “plop” I’ve ever heard. But here’s the kicker — as we’re laughing about it, a big white egret that had been standing in the shallows just strutted over, looked at the ball, and then looked at me like, “Nice shot, champ.” 🤦‍♀️ I swear the bird was mocking me.
