Did Anyone Else Become Loyal to One Golf Brand? ⛳

Hi ladies, Rachel here! I always told myself I wasn’t going to become “that golfer” who was loyal to one brand… …and here I am with a TaylorMade Qi35 driver, Titleist Pro V1 golf balls, and I’m already looking at a new Scotty Cameron putter. 😂 It wasn’t planned—it just kind of happened. A few of my friends are the exact opposite. One has a PING G440 driver, Callaway Elyte irons, a Cleveland RTX wedge, and an Odyssey White Hot putter. She says she just buys whatever works best. So now I’m curious… Are you loyal to one golf brand like Callaway, TaylorMade, PING, Titleist, or Cobra? What’s the best golf club you’ve ever owned? Has a new driver, putter, or set of irons actually improved your game, or do you think it’s mostly the golfer and not the equipment? I’m always interested in hearing what real women golfers are playing instead of just reading reviews online. Looking forward to hearing what’s in everyone’s golf bag!

Ladies… Have You Ever Had a Golf Emergency in the Woods? 😂⛳️

Okay ladies, I need honesty on this one because I know I can’t be the only one. 😅 A few weeks ago, I was on hole 12 of a beautiful course… middle of nowhere, no restroom in sight, and suddenly my morning coffee decided it was time to make a move. 🚨☕️ I tried to hold on until the clubhouse, but by hole 14 it was clear this was becoming a women’s golf emergency. I looked at my group, said “I’ll be right back,” grabbed some tissues from my golf bag, and made the fastest little trip into the woods you’ve ever seen. Of course, just as I was trying to be discreet, I hear someone yell from the fairway: “Nice shot, Melissa!” Wrong Melissa, thankfully… but my heart nearly stopped 😂 Golf teaches many skills: patience, focus, humility… and apparently wilderness survival too. Have you ever had to make an emergency bathroom run on the golf course? Does anyone else now keep tissues or wipes in their golf bag just in case? What’s your funniest “nature called during the round” moment? Please tell me I’m not alone here 😭⛳️💚 — “BushesAndBirdies”

Slowing Down My Swing Changed Everything — Seriously!

Hi ladies, I used to think I had to swing harder to hit the ball farther… big mistake. 😅 My drives were all over the place — slices, tops, and the occasional majestic shot that kept me coming back for more. A few weeks ago, my instructor told me something that finally clicked: “Speed comes from rhythm, not muscle.” So I started focusing on tempo and balance instead of brute force. I began doing the “1-and-2” count drill — saying 1 at the top of my backswing and 2 when I make contact. It instantly smoothed out my tempo and improved my contact. Now my drives are straighter, and I’m actually getting better distance with less effort. The ball feels like it jumps off the clubface when I stay relaxed and finish my follow-through. Has anyone else tried slowing down their swing tempo? What’s the one swing thought that helps you most on the tee box? Any favorite drills for rhythm or sequencing? Would love to hear your tips — I feel like the swing tempo thing is such a game changer once you “get it.” 💚

Okay, confession time.

Last Sunday, I was playing a casual round with friends. We get to the first tee, and I completely top my drive about 30 yards into some scraggly rough. Everyone laughs, and without thinking, I say, “I’m taking a breakfast ball.” I re-tee, stripe it right down the middle, and we carry on. The problem? I ended up having one of my best rounds of the season — and I still counted it as my “official” score in my little notebook. 😳 Part of me says, “It’s just a friendly game, no big deal.” But the other part says, “You basically played a 73 with a free mulligan… shame, shame.” Anyone else have a guilty golf habit? Do you ever fluff your lie, give yourself generous gimme putts, or accidentally forget a penalty stroke? Your secrets are safe here. 😉

Love the video. Picked up many nice pointers from it. One thing that really helped my putting was focusing on tempo instead of just line and speed. I used to rush my stroke, especially on short putts, and I’d pull or push them. Now I count in my head — “one” on the backstroke, “two” on the follow-through — and it keeps my pace nice and even. I also practice a lot with a gate drill (two tees just wider than my putter head) to make sure I’m striking the ball square. It’s amazing how much more confident I feel inside 6 feet just by making my stroke repeatable.

Reply in: Are Rangefinders Worth It? My Experience After 3 Rounds

I went with a $100 Amazon special just to see if I’d even like using one, and honestly… it’s been fine! Not as fancy as the Bushnell or Precision Pro, but for my weekend rounds, it gets the job done. One thing I noticed — rangefinders really help with confidence. When I know I’ve got 128 yards to the flag, I can swing my 8-iron without second-guessing.

Reply in: Turning Up at the Wrong golf club

Not quite , i realized my mistake half way to the wrong course, so still made my tee time.
