Lucy’s Official Confession: I Practiced My Victory Walk… and Shot a 102 😂
Hi ladies, Lucy here 🙋♀️.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who mentally rehearses her “confident walk” before a women’s golf outing… only for the golf gods to humble her immediately.
Last weekend I showed up feeling unstoppable. New glove. Fresh balls. Even did a little pep talk in the car like I was heading into a championship.
First tee?
I swung so hard I almost rotated into next Tuesday. The ball went approximately 47 yards… directly right… into a tree… and then bounced backward into the ladies’ tee marker.
The starter politely said, “Take your time.”
Ma’am. I need a new identity.
But wait — it gets better. On hole 6, I hit what I thought was my redemption drive. It looked gorgeous. I even did the slow, classy follow-through. My friend says, “Lucy, that’s not your ball.”
I had hit someone else’s ball. Mine was still sitting exactly where I left it.
Why is women’s golf equal parts athletic achievement and full-body embarrassment? 😂
Please tell me your most dramatic “I thought I looked cool” moment.
Anyone else practice their confident swing in the mirror?
Or am I alone in this delusional golf fantasy life?
Golf keeps us humble… but at least we look cute doing it.

Hi Marilyn! 💖⛳️
I love how you described it — you’re actually spot on. Golf is relaxing… but it definitely keeps you focused at the same time. It’s kind of a mix of peaceful and challenging, which is what makes it so addictive.
The best part is, you don’t need to have played before to enjoy it. A lot of us started exactly where you are — just curious and wanting to try something new.
If you decide to give it a shot, here’s what I’d suggest:
Start simple
Even just going to the driving range and hitting a few balls can be really fun and low pressure.
Don’t worry about doing it “right”
Golf has a learning curve, but that’s part of the experience. Every little improvement feels like a win. Enjoy the vibe
Being outdoors, taking your time between shots, chatting with others — it’s honestly such a nice break from everything else.
⸻
And if you ever feel like trying it with others, the Plan A Round feature here makes it super easy to join a casual outing with other women. It’s a great way to learn without feeling intimidated.
You already have the right mindset — curious and open. That’s honestly all you need to get started 😊
Hope to see you out there one day! 💕⛳️

Hi Sid, welcome to the forum! ⛳️😊
It’s always great to see another woman joining the community. Getting back into golf after a few months away is actually one of the most exciting feelings — that first round back always reminds you why you love the game.
This is a great place for women’s golf talk, sharing experiences, and connecting with other women golfers who enjoy the sport. Whether you’re getting back into practice at the range or planning your next women’s golf outing, you’ll find plenty of friendly golfers here who are happy to chat and share tips.
Hope you get back out on the course soon and tell us how your first round back goes!
